Masters degree in administration from an accredited college or university. Valid NM Administrator’s License.
Ability to build and articulate a vision with staff, students, parents and community.
Able to demonstrate application proficiency in word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
Understanding of student management and instructional delivery systems.
Embraces and encourages diversity. 
A willingness to seek professional development in administrative leadership, management, and supervision. 
Ability to provide an environment and climate where creativity, risk-taking and experimentation are shared by all stakeholders. 3 yrs. supervisory experience. 
Responsible and accountable for leadership, management, and supervision of all faculty, staff, students, student services, instructional and supplemental programs, facilities and support services at an elementary school and its campus.

Responsible and accountable for all of the school’s educational programs. 
Supervises and ensures the implementation of the state and local district’s standards-based curriculum and benchmarks. 
Pursues the self-actualization of character attributes for all students and staff and the maintenance of student discipline in accordance with district policy and procedures. Implements federal and state statutes and regulations, board policy and procedures in all personnel regulations and procedures pertaining to site personnel.
Accepts responsibility for actions concerning the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities and for actions beyond the scope of authority.
Evaluates all staff as per district policy and procedures and provides personnel employment recommendations to the superintendent via his/her designee.
Implements federal and state statutes and regulation, board policy and procedures in all site budget and business/finance operations.
Develops and implements school master schedule and associative sub-schedules in accordance with district focus areas, district and student needs, budgetary limitations and state and local regulations and requirements.
Responsible for monitoring, supervising, and evaluation of all school-related activities. 
Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession.
Upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and strategic plan of the GCCS. Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information.
The Assistant Principal provides leadership, supervision, and support to ensure an optimal educational environment for all students and staff. This includes overseeing instructional programs, school operations, student services, and campus facilities
.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Principal will:
  • Support the Principal in leading and managing school operations, staff performance, and student success.
  • Oversee and ensure the effective implementation of state and district curriculum standards.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment by implementing discipline policies aligned with district guidelines.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff using district-approved appraisal systems and provide personnel recommendations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the school master schedule in alignment with district focus areas and student needs.
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to use data-driven decision-making for improving student achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local policies related to school operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by district policies and state regulations.
  • Engage with parents, community members, and stakeholders to promote positive school-community relationships.
  • Support the coordination of professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Oversee student services, including attendance, discipline, and extracurricular activities.
  • Supervise campus safety and work collaboratively with maintenance staff for facility upkeep.
  • Act as the Principal’s designee when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or district administration
