Job Description:
Cottonwood Valley Charter School in Socorro, NM seeks a part-time SLP for the 2023-24 school year.
CVCS is a 170-student K-8 program started by a group of local parents in 2001, who wanted a different educational opportunity for their children. The mission of CVCS is as follows:
"Cottonwood Valley Charter School offers a rigorous academic program designed to meet the individual needs of each student both indoors and out, together and independently, with an emphasis on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) using the most current teaching practices in math and science while integrating social studies and arts content from the Core Knowledge Curriculum. We believe the arts are essential contributors to the student’s education for balance and deep understandings. They also provide opportunities for creativity in the sciences, allowing the pursuit of science to be imaginative and open to all skill levels. Through community engagement, CVCS students will understand their effects on the world around them and the importance of contributing to it resulting in positive change. This is reinforced by parent and community voluntarism as examples of creating impactful change. The School offers the community a parent-driven public school choice in which teachers, students, and parents are partners."
