Job Description:
POSITION AVAILABLE: PRINCIPAL
Katherine Gallegos Elementary
1.Design an elementary school program that addresses the academic needs and interests of the community.
2.Plan, develop, and implement all details of the curricular and co-curricular program.
3.Build an inviting and challenging learning community for staff and students.
Located in the pastoral setting of the Mid-Rio Grande Valley, the community is rapidly growing, offering affordable country living within commuting distance to the Albuquerque metropolitan area conveniently located off I-25. The Los Lunas Schools is committed to standards-based school improvement, high-quality classroom instruction, improved levels of student achievement, and the personal and academic success of a diverse, multi-talented student body. 1. Valid New Mexico Administrative License.
2. Have completed advanced-level coursework in school administration, preferably with a concentration on elementary schools.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with curriculum and program development at the elementary school level.
4. Demonstrate knowledge about current trends in elementary school reform.
5. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the No Child Left Behind Law and the New Mexico School Reform Act.
6. A minimum of (3) three years documented experience as a school leader at the elementary school
level.
SALARY AND WORK YEAR: As established by the Los Lunas Schools current Administrative Salary Schedule.
